I work mostly with mid-fire clays and glazes, watercolors and water soluble oils. I also make candles, soaps, woodburning art, dried herbs, potpourri and brooms with herbs, flowers and grains I have grown myself organically and also include them in my claywork and painting. All of my gardens and dreams for my environment are included in my art in one way or another. I do NOT add computer effects to the paintings you see here or the photography - they are as they were painted or shot.
The photography has also not been retouched by a CGA program, and all are originals as taken.
I am an impressionist, sometimes blurring the lines between impressionism, or realism, or the abstract or all 3 at the same time !
"Mother Nature and all she provides and inspires in the Western North Carolina mountains permeates all of Peggys crafts, be it pottery, painting or other eclectic creations (with an occasional excursion into places she has traveled to such as Hawaii, Canada, the Southwest USA, Ireland, and others -- wherever nature is at her best .or worst!)" Displays at the Artisan Gallery, St, James Marina, St. James, NC and Franklin Square Gallery, Southport, NC.
Peggy has a BBA and MBA from the University of Illinois/Champaign/Urbana, is a CPA and a certified Master Gardener, both in Buncombe County, North Carolina and Delaware County, Ohio. Art classes at AB Tech, Asheville, NC and Ohio State University, Columbus, OH.
I believe in nature and all that support her. My artwork, no matter what medium, reflects the eclectic and changing dynamics of her whims calm, colorful, violent, distressed, but always beautiful no matter what season or climate eccentricities.
To that end, I strive to put the best quality in every piece and a dedication and reverence for the environment in practicing my craft.
